What is the furniture constructed of?
We use New Zealand pine or cypress to construct our furniture. Whichever wood is selected is inspected to be free as possible of knots and warps. Each of these woods have good strength, are lightweight and the pine accepts its painted finish beautifully.
Can I leave my furniture outside?
Yes, Island Times' furniture, although beautiful, is intended for outdoor use. Obviously, if you bring them in during the winter months or cover them they will last longer.
What finish is applied to the furniture?
Each piece of painted furniture has one coat of primer before it gets two coats of color. The brand of primer we use has mildew retardant in it. In addition to the two coats of exterior enamel, the entire piece of furniture, including the artwork is protected with two coats of spar varnish, which has a UV blocker for sun protection. DO NOT apply any type of sealer or coating to our furniture without checking with our company. Certain products will ruin your furniture and are not needed.
How do I clean my furniture?
We suggest that you use only dishwashing soap and warm water. Be very careful not to use any bottled cleaner because any type of ammonia or other solvents, will possibly attack the finish causing it to deteriorate. Island Times will not be liable for damage caused by using the wrong cleaner.
What are the furniture's dimensions?
The chairs are 38” high x 30” wide x 33” deep.
The table is 21” high x 22” wide x 13” deep.
The ottoman is 13” high x 19” wide x 25” deep.
